You’ve probably heard that coloring books are all the rage—for both children and adults!
Studies have shown that coloring helps to reduce stress and promote relaxation by calming the amygdala, the part of the brain related to our fear/stress response. Coloring also stimulates the parts of the brain responsible for creativity and logic. Not only that, but coloring is fun! And with the “Secret Doors” Coloring Book, you can not only “color-aborate” with the artists in the book (all of whom are from South Florida), but you can help support ArtCares for Kids!
Produced by Just My Height Art Shows and Talking Off the Wall magazine, the “Secret Doors” coloring book features the artwork of 15 of South Florida’s most talented urban artists. Each piece of artwork is accompanied by a short bio on the artist, so you can read and learn about the artist while you color.
The books cost $10 per copy or three for $25, and for a small additional fee, they can be shipped anywhere in the United States.
Here’s the really special part: For each purchase, Just My Height Art Shows and Talking Off the Wall will donate a book to ArtCares for Kids! We will then give the books to children at Jackson-Memorial Holtz Children’s Hospital and Baptist Children’s Hospital to enjoy while sitting in bed or during one of our visits. And believe us: The children who have already received a copy of the book absolutely LOVE it! They like coloring, but they especially like that the artwork was created by local artists.
